Cheap BB/Airsoft Targets

I was looking for ways to shoot BB/airsoft guns in the house since I live in a townhouse and my yard is small and I’m sure the neighbors wouldn’t approve of hearing loud sounds of gunshots. After an exhaustive search and shelling out cash for some nice guns and 2 small targets, I realized how expensive this mode of entertainment would be if I got all the targets I wanted to create a variety in my small basement range. And the worst part? They are all SMALL! Like nothing bigger than a 12″ in diameter! Then I started looking online for homemade targets and found very little to go off of for indoor use. A trip to Walmart found the entire airsoft section wiped clean except for target paper and stickers.

THEN.

What: Homemade indoor target

How: Buying things online

BOXES. Enclosed by pieces of wood and other cardboard. Placed upside down and with the flaps pushed up inside, not only are they CHEAP targets, but that way, they’re catching the BBs underneath. The strongest gun is my G19 which shoots up to 360fps compared to the 1911 Tac blowback which shoots at 345 fps. Then, just place some target stickers on there, or even actual target sheets, and voila! After that, spin the box to the unshot sides, continue and finally, recycle and move on to the next boxes.

If you don’t push the flaps in, then our BBs shot straight through both the front and back, but with the flaps pushed in, it punctures the front and not the back. At least so far. And with Amazon boxes. You do get some bounces sometimes, depending on the CO2 level in the canisters, or the section of the box, but if you want cheap, long-use, BB holding targets, can’t beat these boxes especially if you’re already buying stuff online.

We found that when half of the CO2 was used up, the gun got too weak to puncture cardboard, so then we’d switch to the foam and paper targets.

WEAR YOUR EYE PROTECTION! And happy indoor shooting!

This is the farthest I can shoot from in my small space ~16ft

Ripped a huge hole in this one, but none made it out the back of the box

Same box, the flap directly behind the fired on side. There were many BBs underneath this flap

This is the opposite end. You can see that not too many made it through there. None made it out the back.
