Moving into autumn, a great time of year. Maybe it gets colder, but still reason for cheer because it’s the moment again! My favorite festival, Halloween, is here! last year’s decorations rocked and now we need to outdo them. Roddy mentioned a competition…my interest is piqued! A town full of scarecrows: a real sight to see! The best gets selected and take pride of place at the foot of the Town Hall in a prominent space. And not only that, the townsfolk will know that the other scarecrows that didn’t quite make the grade will be a win for Hopewell Bay in a very different way. Off they will go to fields near and far to protect our crops, standing there, bizarre. Our Hopewell Berries, protected in this way, may yield a successful harvest, and that sounds A-OK! So, to make this scarecrow, what do I need?

This Halloween harvest is new to me. It says so much for a community that works well together. It’s a great idea for Hopewell Bay where, come what may, to have a competition, we make use of our play. It would be nice for us to win: to have our scarecrow standing sharp with a grin. But I love the idea that the town will win. I says something for this place that we work together to look after our harvest in our shared want to have Hopeberry Pie all year round. We won’t let you down because, my oh my, that is understood you are that good. I wonder how it started, this whole competition? With Hopberries in mind
